Apple Bloom is a looper from Equestria, and a member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders along with Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle.
Description[]
Apple Bloom is a yellow Earth Pony filly with a pinkish red mane and orange eyes, and usually wears a large pink bow on top of her head. She is able to ascend to an alicorn at will.
While for a long time she did not have a set cutie mark, the ones she did gain tended to relate to technology in some way. After a recent expansion, however, she has gained a permanent cutie mark, representing a talent for helping others find their talent.
History[]
In the baseline, Apple Bloom lives with her sister, Applejack, her brother, Big Macintosh, and her Granny Smith. She formed the Cutie Mark Crusaders with her friends, with the purpose to help the trio find their cutie marks, then later to help others with their cutie marks.
One loop, the chaos lord Discord sent her and her childhood bully Diamond Tiara to a deserted island, where they had to survive by themselves. Originally Diamond refused to work with her, but eventually she and Diamond bonded, before being rescued by Twilight and Rainbow Dash.
Apple Bloom Ascended during a loop wherein she, along with Smart Cookie, safely reverse engineered a civilization-ending weapon called a Jain Node (from Polity). She hid this fact from the other Crusaders for a few loops, but was discovered during a loop where the Crusaders, Nyx, and Diamond Tiara were Twilight Sparkle's alicorn daughters.
Abilities[]
- Earth Pony Magic: Earth Ponies have an innate ability to cause plant growth, this also includes increased strength and stamina.
- Alicorn transformation: Apple Bloom can transform at will into an alicorn, and through the alicorn form into any of the varieties of Equestrian pony. In Alicorn mode she possesses enhanced earth pony strength, Pegasus flight and skill abilities, and unicorn spell-casting powers.
- Element of Magic: During a Loop in which she and the other five Crusaders were all Twilight's daughters, they bonded to the Elements of Harmony to stop an unAwake Discord when he returned in the present day. Apple Bloom became the Element of magic due to her skill in technology, and Arthur C. Clarke's third law: ""Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
- Subspace Pocket: Standard Looper ability allowing Loopers to store objects within their soul.
- Technological genius: Apple Bloom has a gift for building and figuring out almost anything technology-related.
